For ABA Practices Using the VB-MAPP

Add objective developmental data alongside your VB-MAPP assessments.

The VB-MAPP tells you which social skills a child has. EarliPoint tells you how they’re engaging with the social world, before those skills show up. That’s the layer you need to teach the foundations that complex social learning is built on.

Together, they give your clinicians different types of information to consider when understanding a child’s development and progress over time.

How EarliPoint Complements the VB-MAPP

Different measures. Different insights.

The VB-MAPP gives clinicians valuable information about a child’s language, learning, social skills, and barriers to progress. It helps your team understand current skills and make informed decisions about treatment priorities. EarliPoint measures something different.

During a quick, child-friendly session, eye-tracking technology measures social visual engagement directly and consistently. The results provide objective developmental data that qualified clinicians can interpret alongside the VB-MAPP and the other information they already use. EarliPoint doesn’t replace the VB-MAPP or change its role in your practice. It adds another source of information that can help your team understand development and change over time.

Common Questions

Does EarliPoint replace VB-MAPP?

No, and it isn’t designed to. VB-MAPP drives curriculum and IEP goals. EarliPoint adds an objective developmental data stream beside it. It complements, and never replaces, clinical judgment and established assessment practices.

Who administers it, and how long does it take?

Trained staff administer the quick assessment; qualified clinicians interpret results. It doesn’t add BCBA hours; it gives them back.

How does this help with payer documentation?

Many payers increasingly look for standardized, objective outcome data alongside criterion-referenced tools like VB-MAPP. An observer-independent measure repeated on your reassessment cadence strengthens the clinical picture you present. Coverage decisions always rest with the payer.

What ages does it cover?

EarliPoint is FDA-cleared for children 16 through 95 months who are at risk based on concerns from a parent, caregiver, or healthcare provider — a range that overlaps VB-MAPP’s early-learner window and extends beyond it.

Keep the VB-MAPP. Add Another Perspective.
